Money Pages CEO Alan Worley Discusses His Vision for the Future of the Brand

The local marketing brand’s Chief Executive Officer shares how he plans to help businesses and consumers through his multi-media brand.

When Alan Worley started Money Pages over 20 years ago, he launched the brand with a vision of catering to both business and consumer markets with direct-mail, multi-media advertising opportunities. Now, after franchising the company, his proven business model is in 39 markets across seven states with more locations on the horizon.

“Money Pages helps businesses gain new customers, and at the same time it saves readers money,” explained Worley. “We’re really helping people on both ends of the consumer markets giving businesses a way to advertise their products and services through multi-media options and helping customers save money at their favorite establishments and discover new businesses they may not have tried before at a discounted price.”

In 2021, Money Pages awarded three franchise agreements in Fort Mill, South Carolina, and Richmond, Virginia. The brand also awarded its first-ever area development agreement in Charlotte, North Carolina to Heather and Ryan Zabinsky.

Money Pages has consistently been recognized for its services, with its most recent recognition at the beginning of the year when it was ranked No. 1 in the Advertising Services category by Entrepreneur Magazine’s Franchise 500.

Throughout the last year, Worley said that he was proud the brand was able to grow even with the challenges encountered by the COVID-19 pandemic and its resulting consequences. “What we have seen with our business model since the onset of the pandemic is that we are both recession and pandemic-proof,” said Worley. “With consumers spending more time at home, messages delivered directly to the mailbox were a main touch point with customers, elevating the importance of direct mail. With our publication specifically, not only were consumers eager to save money in those tough times, but businesses were motivated to find a way to communicate with their audience about unique changes or promotions. We gave them a way to do that. Our creativity helping businesses evolve their messaging during the pandemic and reach their customers contributed significantly to our growth since March 2020.”

As Money Pages helped other businesses pivot during the pandemic, they had to as well. While Money Pages remained in full operation due to its designation as an essential service, they also made some changes that Worley would admit he never would have considered pre-pandemic. Worley introduced a remote work option for employees, allowing them to alternate days in the office or adjust their office hours around their needs. “Since that time, we’ve allowed for a more flexible schedule for our employees,” he said. “My initial concern was about maintaining our culture which is so important to me, but by implementing this new hybrid office model, it has actually boosted morale and ultimately helped us scale in other markets while continuing to provide the exceptional support our franchisees expect from us.”

With the growth achieved in 2021, Worley is excited for the future of Money Pages, including its ongoing mission to support local businesses and help them grow. Money Pages can drive that message home (literally) through mailboxes in markets across the eastern U.S., through its app that can target customers based on the cities in which they are located, as well as a digital marketing sister company 3D Digital.

“Our vision for the brand leading up through 2025 is to add 60 units,” said Worley. “What we believe sets us apart from the competition, and primes us to reach that target, is our multi-media campaigns that allow for direct mail via USPS, geo targeted app and the digital assets of video production, website development and targeted display. We plan to take advantage of the ability to tell stories on different platforms.”

How Money Pages Supports Franchisees to Reach Its Growth Goals

Money Pages provides its franchisees with back-end support through business coaching, design teams and an accounting team.  Money Pages covers all the back office work so franchisees can focus on building and maintaining relationships in their markets.,

“All franchisees have direct access to our corporate support, and we regularly host events that include all of our franchise owners and, oftentimes, their spouses or families,” said Chris Sexton, Vice President of Franchising at Money Pages. “The relationships among franchisees are very strong, so there’s a built-in network of support among franchise owners who routinely reach out to each other to answer questions or bounce ideas off each other. It’s in the shared interest of everyone to help each other grow, and is very important to the Money Pages brand.”

Future growth efforts for the brand will be focused on Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. In addition to these states, Worley said the brand will also have some core cities within those markets that it plans to secure franchisees for including Alpharetta, Augusta and Athens in Georgia; Orlando, Tampa and Tallahassee in Florida; Raleigh-Durham, Apex, Cary and Greensboro in North Carolina; Greenville, Columbia and Charleston in South Carolina; and the Greater Nashville area and Knoxville in Tennessee.

“We plan to take a more refined approach to recruiting franchisees in 2022,” said Worley. “We’re putting in a lot more effort through time and resources, and I will personally be visiting franchise consultants and coaches in our target markets to find franchisees that will fit well with the brand.”

Money Pages Celebrates Three Franchisee Signings and Looks Ahead to Add Four More Partners This Year With Plans for Continued Growth in Southeast

The multimedia brand with over 13 million magazines in circulation in the U.S. grew its footprint to 39 markets in 2021, putting the franchise well on its way to reaching its goal of 60 markets by 2025.

Money Pages, the multi-media marketing franchise that helps local businesses reach their target audiences through direct mail by distributing over 13 million magazines last year, closed out 2021 with substantial growth, adding three new units to its system in 2021. The franchise is now looking to continue its growth in key markets across the Southeast, including Georgia (Johns Creek, Athens, Augusta), Florida (Tampa – St. Petersburg, Orlando, Tallahassee), North Carolina (Raleigh-Durham, Cary – Apex, Greensboro), South Carolina (Charleston, Columbia, Greenville), and Tennessee (Nashville and Knoxville).

According to Chris Sexton, Money Pages’ VP of Franchising, the brand’s recent and ongoing growth is due largely to its prime market availability, low overhead, and recurring revenue streams, all of which allow franchisees to stake an outsized claim in an industry projected to reach $70.66 billion by 2023.

“We have more than four awards planned for this year and are looking forward to continuing to grow the system into more states and local communities,” said Sexton. “We are also looking forward to expanding into Charlotte with our first publications in 2022. Our Richmond market is off to a stellar start with Aubrey Sylvester continuing to increase page counts and billing since his launch in October 2021.”

The brand’s strong positioning has not gone unnoticed in the franchise industry. This year, Entrepreneur Magazine included the brand in its prestigious Franchise 500 list as No. 1 in category for Advertising Services.

Money Pages Franchisees Plan for Success in 2022

One of the franchisee powerhouse teams taking Money Pages into new territories in 2022 is Heather and Ryan Zabinksy, who signed in Summer 2021. The couple was awarded one unit in Ft. Mill, South Carolina, and also signed an Area Developer agreement for Charlotte, North Carolina.

The Zabinksy’s, who formerly owned an HVAC company for 14 years in Jacksonville, Florida, would advertise their previous company in Money Pages, so they were familiar with the product and knew it was an option they wanted to pursue for their next business venture.

“Money Pages has a proven system that we believe in. We believe in the marketing, we believe in what the publication can do for local communities, and we believe in the power of our sales team,” said Ryan. “Money Pages worked with us and gave us the opportunity to put our best foot forward in our South Carolina community — and we look forward to growing from here.”

“We’re offering an incredibly valuable service — constant business-to-consumer branding to  those businesses in our immediate area on a month-to-month basis,” said Ryan.

Moving forward into the new year, the couple will expand their territory into the South Charlotte region and continue to grow into North Carolina.

Another franchisee team, the Eders — Jeff and his son Nate — have strong ties to their Indiana community and wanted a local business where they could help other business owners and strengthen their town’s economy.

“Brownsburg-Hendricks County is a growing community with a lot of business opportunities,” said Jeff. “There are alot of new businesses starting up here and businesses moving into this area. Money Pages is here for that. It feels like the right time to launch this type of business.”

The Eders’ Brownsburg, Indiana, publication will launch in Spring of 2022 and reach other surrounding Hendricks County towns of Avon and Danville with the hyper-local magazine geared to help small businesses.

Alan Worley, CEO and Founder of Money Pages, expressed his excitement that this new franchise location in Indiana is a family operation rooted in passion for small local business.

“Money Pages is rooted in family, and we are thrilled to be welcoming this father-son duo to our team,” said Worley. “We can’t wait to see what big things the Eders do for the Brownsburg community.”

Sexton says the success of the brand’s franchisees is a direct result of its growth mindset and robust support team with a deep bench of experience.

“Our most successful franchise owners have multiple units and or development areas,” said Sexton. “It’s important, when thinking about growth, multiple units is where you are really going to thrive. Growth is accelerated by access to a very experienced leadership team that has a direct role in supporting our franchise owners.”

The investment to open a Money Pages franchise starts at $107,500. For more information, visit https://moneypagesfranchising.com/

How Does Money Pages Support Its Franchisees?

Marie Moon, Director of Franchise Development, explains how the multi-media franchise supports its franchise partners by fostering relationships and offering thorough training and ongoing support.

Money Pages, the multi-media marketing franchise that helps local businesses reach their target audiences through direct mail, has supported local communities since 2012 through franchisees’ monthly publications. However, to make each publication the best possible and promote each franchisee’s success, Money Pages has also been focused on providing top-notch support to its franchise partners. The success of this supportive relationship was made obvious with awarding 8 new Money Pages territories and grown it’s presence to over 13  million magazines annually.

Money Pages Is a Relationship Business

“At our core, we are a relationship-based business,” said Marie Moon, Money Pages’ Director of Franchise Development. We routinely do events that include all of our franchise owners, and oftentimes, their spouses and families, and franchise owners will additionally network with each other to share ideas and strategies.”

Moon elaborated how Money Pages provides a built-in network of support for franchise owners. They know who to reach out to when, and don’t have to search for names and numbers and locations. For example, the corporate team holds a “franchise roundtable” at least monthly where owners discuss challenges, wins, tips and techniques.

The Brand Offers Comprehensive Training and Ongoing Support

York County, South Carolina, franchisees Heather and Ryan Zabinsky shared that from the time they first expressed interest in franchising with the brand to publishing their first magazine with Money Pages and beyond, they’ve received incredible, ongoing support.

“They brought us down to Jacksonville for week-long training, but that wasn’t the end of the support,” said Heather. “During the launch of the first magazine — we had three months — they came to South Carolina three times for support. For three weeks, we had someone here helping us, guiding us, answering questions and telling us various ways of doing things. Now, we can call them at any time during the day and ask for help and know that we’re going to get a prompt reply — and that’s amazing.”

Moon says at the beginning of prospective franchisee’s journey with the brand, they have the opportunity to talk with the leading team members of Money Pages — including CEO Alan Worley — over video conference. The potential franchisee gets an overview of the sales operations, design and digital assets. From that point, the leadership team will award the franchise and the new partner, with the support from corporate, and begin to prepare for the publication’s launch. With the Money Pages team and the franchisee collectively working to bring the new publication into a new market, the typical publication date is 90–120 days from the franchise award.

“Money Pages is unique in that it has a fast ramp-up time from inquiry to ownership,” said Moon. “We also have the benefit of having low-cost ownership: It’s an affordable investment with little-to-no inventory, labor, overhead, real estate or equipment. It’s a great opportunity to enter a local market, impact a community and be a part of a growing company where you know you’re constantly supported at all stages.”

The investment to open a Money Pages franchise starts at $109,700. For more information, visit https://moneypagesfranchising.com/

Money Pages Ranks No. 1 in Category for Advertising Services on Entrepreneur’s 2022 Franchise 500; Follows Recent No. 84 Ranking on Entrepreneur Magazine’s List of Top Home-Based Franchise Opportunities

The multi-media brand’s recent high rankings from Entrepreneur further establishes its increasing popularity among franchise investors.

Money Pages, the multi-media brand helping local businesses reach their target audiences across seven states through direct mail, digital services and its flagship product Money Pages magazine, has ranked No. 1 in category for Advertising Services in Entrepreneur’s 2022 Franchise 500, shortly after receiving honors as No. 84 on Entrepreneur magazine’s Top Home-Based & Mobile Franchises ranking. The recognition arrives on the heels of the brand’s recent announcement that it aims to expand to more than 40 cities by 2025.

Money Pages’ CEO and founder Alan Worley said the franchise’s ranking by Entrepreneur magazine is an indicator that the brand is on the right track for continued growth.

“We really pride ourselves on being the best opportunity that meets franchisees where they are,” said Worley. “If we learned anything from the pandemic, it was that we are mobile, and our careers should be too.”

Money Pages offers small businesses the opportunity to market their companies in big ways on affordable budgets and is building on that momentum. After seeing record growth during the pandemic, circulation has expanded to more than 13 million households annually, with distribution growing every quarter.

With prime markets available, low overhead and recurring revenue streams, Money Pages represents a huge opportunity to tap into the stable multi-billion dollar direct mail industry, which is expected to reach $70.66 billion by 2023. This is precisely why Money Pages has assembled a team of more than 50 industry professionals to support its aggressive growth plans by providing expertise to new franchisees while supporting the development of every new market.

In a digital world where brand messages are often lost among the daily tidal wave of emails, texts, social media posts and news feeds, Americans suffering from information overload are seeking experiences outside of their computer screens. Money Pages Sets its Sights on Founders’ Home State of North Carolina as Next Stop on U.S. Franchise Growth Plan

President and CEO Alan Worley, would love nothing more than to bring the brand home to the Tar Heel State with a goal of opening in 40 cities by 2025.

Money Pages, a multi-media marketing franchise that helps business owners reach their target audiences through direct mail, digital products and its flagship product Money Pages magazine, is looking to expand its footprint, starting with North Carolina, the home state of the brand’s Founder, president and CEO Alan Worley.

“After seeing our franchise system double in size during the pandemic, we’re excited to build on that momentum,” said Worley. “The Research Triangle has been at the top of my list for a while now, not only because it’s a great market for us, but also because I’m a North Carolina native.”

Named after the three prestigious universities of Duke, UNC-Chapel Hill and North Carolina State University, North Carolina’s Research Triangle consists of more than 200 companies collectively employing 50,000 people all within the 7,000-acre Research Triangle Park, making it the largest and most successful research park in the nation.

Offering local businesses the opportunity to market themselves in a big way, Money Pages brings local businesses’ stories to life in a seamless package that provides savings to its communities. Launched in 2001, the brand gained a lot of traction during the pandemic, achieving record revenue numbers in our corporate and franchise markets in 2021 , when people were spending more time at home and businesses were looking for a way to reach them.

In a digital world where brand messages are often lost among the daily tidal wave of emails, texts, social media posts and news feeds, Americans suffering from information overload are seeking experiences outside of their computer screens. Direct mail marketing provides a more personal way to reach consumers: in their communities and at home, where they are increasingly spending most of their time.

“The pandemic certainly underscored the power of direct mail marketing,” said Danielle Wright, franchise development director for Money Pages. “For our advertisers, it was a tangible way to reach customers and build loyalty. For our franchise partners, it was an opportunity to grow their business. And for our brand, it was an important test in resiliency, especially as we look to the future.”

With a plan of expanding its footprint to more than 40 cities by 2025, North Carolina is one of four states — including South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia — that the brand is targeting as the next wave of franchise growth.

With prime markets available, low overhead costs and recurring revenue streams, Money Pages represents a huge opportunity to tap into the stable multi-billion dollar direct mail industry, which is expected to reach $70.66 billion by 2023.??

The emerging brand — which was included in Entrepreneur Magazine’s prestigious Franchise 500 list for 2021 — offers two distinct paths to business ownership. The Executive Model is designed for franchisees who prefer to hire, train and lead a small sales team while focusing on networking and marketing. The Owner/Operator Model offers a hands-on role leading the franchise, allowing for immediate career transition at a more affordable entry point.

To support the brand’s aggressive growth plans, Money Pages has assembled a team of more than 50 industry professionals who will provide expertise to new franchisees while supporting the development of every new market.

Franchise owners engage with business owners at local events, meet and greet local residents and play an active role in their communities. For the right candidate in the right market, Money Pages represents a rare opportunity to reserve territory in prime markets across the country , says Chris Sexton, Money Pages’ Vice President of Franchising.

“For local businesses in many small cities across the country, there just isn’t anything like Money Pages in their market,” Sexton said. “We offer an opportunity for them to reach their target customers in an effective, personal way. For motivated entrepreneurs, we offer a home-based, direct mail franchise opportunity that provides the flexibility and lifestyle they seek. There really isn’t any other franchise opportunity like this in the nation.”

How Money Pages Brings Monetary and Marketing Value to Its Recipients and Local Businesses Alike

The growing direct mail and digital marketing franchise delivers savings, marketing and brand development for local business owners and smart shoppers through a variety of channels.

Money Pages, a digital and direct-mail marketing franchise that helps consumers and business owners reach their target audiences through direct mail, digital products and its flagship product Money Pages magazine, sets itself apart from the competition by providing scalable marketing to businesses of all sizes at an affordable price. The brand’s mission is to help communities save, help local businesses grow, offer a quick return on investment and bring its clients’ stories to life with its complete marketing system.

“I launched Money Pages in Jacksonville, Florida, in 2001 with a desire to provide local businesses more options for their marketing dollars and to help people in their communities save money,” said Alan Worley, founder and CEO of the brand. “At the time, there simply wasn’t a marketing company out there that offered marketing services without breaking people’s banks. Because we provide multi-media marketing choices accessible to all types of businesses, Money Pages has now grown to serve over 13 million households per year.”

From the start, Money Pages has been helping communities find local savings through the Money Pages magazine, and now offers savings on the Money Pages app and the Money Pages deals website.

The Money Pages magazine is a monthly publication that delivers local businesses and savings directly to consumers’ mailboxes. Filled with coupons from local shops, restaurants, services and more, the Money Pages magazine brings thousands of dollars in monthly local deals directly to consumers’ doorsteps around the country.

The Money Pages app, available on the App Store and Google Play, is another way consumers can find valuable offers wherever they go. The app, which helps consumers find local money-saving offers in the areas where they live and work, shows exclusive coupons and deals in the user’s local community. Once the user finds a deal they like, they can save it as a favorite, visit the business’ website, or call and get driving directions, all directly from the app.

Much like the Money Pages app, the Money Pages Deals website gives consumers access to exclusive money-saving deals from local businesses, from small mom-and-pop shops to large national chains.

Danielle Wright, franchise development director for Money Pages, says the brand’s goal with these platforms is to help small business owners succeed. “We receive so much feedback from small business owners on how we’ve helped them make their dreams come true through marketing,” she said. “Our services turn their passions into profit.”

With that goal in mind, Money Pages offers local businesses the opportunity to market themselves in a big way on any  budget, helping local businesses thrive and local communities save.

Now, backed by the loyalty of those businesses and communities as well as a team of more than 50 industry professionals who provide expertise to new franchisees, Money Pages is preparing to continue its expansion into  markets including the Carolinas and Tennessee, and expanding its presence in its home state of Florida. The company grows by partnering with qualified new franchisees who want to help small businesses thrive in their local communities.
